What is Smart Incubator?
A programme created to assist and support technology-oriented entrepreneurs and start-ups in the early development stages including but not limited to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain and Internet of Things (IoT).
The ITU Smart Incubator was launched in September 2018 at the ITU Telecom World in Durban, South Africa, with special thanks to Saudi Arabia and Rwanda for their financial support.
Its goal is to enable innovation and change of telecommunication/ICTs through the digital transformation of society by empowering local entrepreneurs and start-ups. The work of this programme is linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
The ITU Smart Incubator is a multi-stakeholder platform that includes Member States, UN specialized agencies, Standards Development Organizations, Industry, Academia and Foundations.
