The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is the global forum for intellectual property (IP) services, policy, information and cooperation. Its mission is to lead the development of a balanced and effective international IP system that enables innovation and creativity for the benefit of all. The IP for Business Division (IPBD) is responsible for developing tools and services and implementing programmes to support enterprises to maximize their potential through intellectual property. In addition, the division works with SMEs, supports institutions and other intermediaries, and supports the development of innovation ecosystems.
China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) is scientific research, industry promotion, and policy formulation institution directly under China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). It supports the industry’s effective strategies, plans, policies, standards, testing and certification, thus proving a critical facilitator in the leapfrog development and innovation of China’s information and communication industry. CAICT has strengthened its efforts in making innovations to achieve a broader and more profound research landscape while reinforcing its advantages in telecommunication and the Internet.
Accra Digital Centre is Ghana’s digital hub that has been set up under the Ministry of Communications to harness the digital potential of Ghana by promoting digital entrepreneurship and creating digital and ancillary jobs for the youth by hosting Tech firms and Start-ups. The Centre has a blend of infrastructure, support services, and programmes that have been carefully designed to create a conducive ecosystem for digital innovation and entrepreneurship in Ghana. The Park is also home to the exceptional e-transform (mlab and ihub) facility aimed at training and incubating individuals and Start-Ups.
WAZIUP is a non-profit organization that promotes cutting-edge technologies and capacity building in low and middle-income countries. WAZIUP has developed affordable and adaptable end-to-end IoT solutions, including sensors (WaziDev), IoT Gateway (WaziGate), IoT Cloud (WaziCloud) and application framework (WaziApp). These technologies are based on Open Source hardware and software such as Arduino and Raspberry PI. WAZIUP Open Source IoT-Cloud platform aims to accelerate social innovation and empower local IoT entrepreneurship. WAZIUP is a knowledge partner of ITU Smart Incubator.
